Outlet reports

Every report the point of sale produces is listed here, described in a sentence, and searchable. The catalog exists because "which report tells me X" is a harder question than reading any one of them, and a list of names alone does not answer it.

Ten reports in two groups. The sentence under each name is the question it answers — pick by that rather than by the title.

Financial#

What the outlet took, and what it cost.

Cashier Sales	What went through each drawer, and how the count came out against it
Outlet Bill Transaction	One row per settled bill: where it sat, how it was paid, what it came to
Outlet Article Transaction	One row per article sold, priced as it was rung
Outlet Cancellation Report	Voided lines and abandoned bills, with the reason given
Outlet Production	How many of each article the outlet put out, and on how many bills
Outlet Actual and Recipe Cost	Production valued against recipe cost, with the margin it left

The last two are a pair worth understanding together. Production is a count — forty covers of the sea bass. Actual and Recipe Cost values that same production against what the recipe says it should have cost, and shows the margin. A dish that sells well and margins badly is only visible in the second one.

Cancellation is the one to read when a total looks wrong before assuming the till is broken. A voided line has a reason on it.

Operational#

Who did what, and what is happening now.

Order Taker	Bills, covers and value attributed to whoever opened the check
Occupied Table	Who is sitting where right now, and what they have run up
Meal Coupon	Bills settled by a pre-sold meal coupon, and what they discharged
Meal Plan	Meal-plan entitlements taken against a stay

Occupied Table is the only live one — it is a picture of the floor at this moment, not a period report. The other three cover a period like the financial set.

Meal Coupon and Meal Plan both answer "this bill was settled by something other than money", and they are not the same thing: a coupon was sold in advance and is being discharged, a meal-plan entitlement came with the room rate. Reconciling either against cash taken is how a house finds out its board arrangements are leaking.

The search box filters on the report name and its description together, so searching cost finds the recipe-cost report and searching voided finds Cancellation — you do not have to know what a report is called to reach it.
