Rooms and units

Compose a whole villa from its bedrooms so both shapes share one availability truth and neither can be sold twice.

Who this is for: Front Desk, Manager, Owner — requires frontdesk.room.block. Where: Front Desk → Rooms & Units

Some properties sell the same physical space two ways: a three-bedroom villa as one whole unit, and each of its bedrooms on its own. Rooms & Units is where you tell Nerve that those are the same space, so selling either shape closes the other.

Without that link the two shapes are separate rooms with separate availability, and the house will eventually sell the villa and one of its bedrooms for the same night.

Compose a unit#

  1. Open Front Desk → Rooms & Units.
  2. Under Entire-unit room, pick the room that represents the whole space — the villa.
  3. Under Component room, pick one of the rooms it contains — a bedroom.
  4. Select Attach.
  5. Repeat step 3 for each remaining component.

The composite appears below, with the parent named as the entire unit and its components listed under it.

Understand what composition changes#

Once two rooms are linked, availability treats them as one physical space:

  • Selling or assigning the whole unit for a night takes every component off the market for that night.
  • Selling or assigning any component takes the whole unit off the market for that night.
  • A block on either shape closes the other in the same way.

That holds everywhere availability is computed — the rack, the guided flows, the direct booking engine and what is distributed to channels — because they all read the same availability, not a copy of it.

Catatan

Containment is one level deep. A room that is already a component cannot take components of its own, and a room already acting as a parent cannot become a component of something else. The pickers only offer rooms that are legal for each side, so an illegal shape is not selectable.

Detach a component#

  1. Find the composite unit.
  2. Select Detach on the component row.

The two rooms go back to being independent, each with its own availability from that moment. Existing stays are not moved — detaching changes what can be sold next, not what is already booked.
