The housekeeping overview

Opening Housekeeping from the sidebar lands here, not on the board. The overview is what a supervisor reads first thing: how many rooms are in each state, how many people are arriving and leaving, what is held out of availability, and what is still open on the floor. The board is one click away when you need to act on a specific room.

This section uses the default terminology. Your house may have renamed these terms under Settings → White-label.

Everything the shift needs to know before it starts. The three badges along the bottom are the open work in the registers below — a supervisor who never opens another screen still knows there is a flagged room, a reminder due and an item nobody has collected.

Read the flow#

The three tiles across the top are the day's movement, each counting rooms with the guest figure beneath it:

Arrivals	Stays arriving on the selected date
Departures	Stays leaving on the selected date
In house	Stays occupying a room on that date

The guest number under each is the sum of the stays' recorded adult counts, so a tile reading 2 rooms · 5 guests is telling you the linen and the breakfast covers do not follow the room count.

Read the room mix#

Room mix crosses two facts that are genuinely separate — is a guest in it, and is it clean:

With requests counts rooms whose occupant has an open special request. Rooms is the property's total, and it is the number the other cells should add up to.

Status distribution says the same thing a second way — one bar per cleaning status, ignoring occupancy. Use the mix when you are planning the round and the distribution when you want the shape of the property at a glance.

Catatan

A room's status is now, not per-date. Moving the date picker re-resolves arrivals, departures, in-house, the holds and the open-work badges; the mix and the distribution do not move, because there is no such thing as how clean a room will be next Tuesday.

Know what "vacant" does not mean#

Held out of availability is the line that stops a supervisor from over-promising. It counts the rooms that cannot be sold on the selected date whatever their cleaning status:

• Out of order — blocked, and not counted against inventory
• Out of service — blocked, still counted against inventory
• Off market — held by a department for its own reasons, raised on room maintenance

A room can be vacant and clean and unsellable. That is why this line exists next to the mix rather than inside it: vacant and sellable are different numbers, and the difference is what the desk needs to know before it quotes a walk-in.

Read the open work#

The three badges along the bottom each count what is still outstanding in one register:

• Open discrepancies — rooms reported in a different state from the one the system holds (Discrepancies)
• Traces due — dated reminders due on or before today, including anything overdue (Trace notes)
• Unclaimed items — everything logged and not yet collected or disposed of (Lost & found)

Each drops as its register is worked. They are counts, not alerts: nothing here is dismissed, it is resolved on the screen that owns it.

Trust one number#

Every figure on this screen is computed from the same read the room status board renders. If a hand count off the board disagrees with the mix for the same property and date, that is a bug worth reporting — not two legitimate readings of the same floor.
