Self-service setup

Self-order and self check-in, configured per outlet and per property, each shipping dark until you switch it on — plus the payment-method mapping both depend on.

Who this is for: requires frontdesk.selfservice.config. Where: Settings → Self-Service & Channels → Self-Service Setup

Three tabs — Self-order, Self check-in, Payment mapping — configuring the two guest- and supplier-facing self-service channels. Each ships dark and is switched on deliberately, never on by default.

Self-order#

One row per outlet. Configure opens: an Enable self-order for this outlet toggle, the Menu offered (e.g. the whole outlet menu, or a scoped subset), an Ordering opens/closes time window, a Prep-time promise in minutes shown to the guest, and how Service charge is treated (e.g. included in the menu price versus added at settlement).

Self check-in#

One configuration per hotel: an Enable self check-in for this hotel toggle, which booking types are eligible (comma-separated, e.g. direct, channel), whether ID verification is required, whether a deposit is required and its amount, how a key is issued (e.g. front-desk pickup), and the latest self check-in time of day the flow is offered.

Payment mapping#

Every payment method a self-service channel can offer has to map to something Nerve can settle against. Add mapping wires one in. The screen says plainly what happens without one: "An unmapped self-service payment blocks the transaction rather than posting to a default — map every method the channel can offer." An unmapped method is a hard stop, not a silent default.

What's next#

  • Cashless setup — the provider and method mapping behind cashless/e-wallet payments specifically
  • e-Procurement setup — the third self-service-adjacent channel, for supplier ordering rather than guests
