Room status discrepancies
When the floor finds a room in a different state from the one the desk holds, the register records both readings side by side and corrects neither until somebody decides.

Who this is for: Manager, Owner, and any role granted it — requires
housekeeping.discrepancy.manage. Where: Housekeeping → Discrepancies
A housekeeper opens a room the desk has down as vacant and finds two people and their luggage in it. That is not a cleaning problem and it is not something to fix by editing the room — it is a disagreement between two records, and somebody has to find out which one is wrong.
The discrepancy register is where that disagreement is written down. It records both readings and corrects neither.
Flag one#
- Open Housekeeping → Discrepancies.
- Press Flag a discrepancy.
- Choose the room.
- Say what housekeeping found — occupied or vacant — and how many people in the room.
- Write what you saw.
You are never asked for the front-office reading. Nerve takes that from its own records at the moment you flag, which is the whole point: the two halves of the record come from two different pairs of eyes, and a form that asked one person for both would be recording one opinion twice.

Both readings, kept apart. The room is still vacant as far as every other screen is concerned — raising a flag asks a question, it does not answer it.
Ghi chú
Two readings that agree are not a discrepancy. Report a room in the state the system already holds and the flag is refused — there is nothing to reconcile, and a register full of agreements is a register nobody reads.
Know what a flag does not do#
Raising one writes no correction anywhere. The room keeps its status on the board, the stay keeps its dates, availability is unchanged. Check the room rack after flagging and you will find nothing moved.
That is deliberate. A housekeeper standing in a corridor knows what they can see; they do not know whether the guest extended by phone, whether a walk-in was checked in under another room, or whether the desk simply mis-keyed. Letting the floor overwrite the reservation would replace a small error with a bigger one. So the register raises the question, and somebody with both sides of the story answers it.
Fixing the underlying record is a separate act on the screen that owns it — the reservation, the rack, or the board.
Close one#
Every flag ends in one of two ways, and both take a note of what was decided:
| Action | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Resolve | The disagreement was real and has been dealt with — say what was done |
| Dismiss | There was nothing in it — a miscount, the wrong room number, a stay that had already moved |
Either one closes the flag and drops it out of the Open filter. Switch Show to see closed flags with the outcome that was recorded against them — nothing is deleted, because "what happened about room 104" is the question the register exists to answer three weeks later.
A closed flag stays closed. Resolving one twice is refused rather than silently re-recorded.
Watch the count#
The Open discrepancies badge on the overview counts exactly what the Open filter shows here, and drops as flags are closed.
What's next#
- The housekeeping overview — where the open count is surfaced
- The room status board — where a room's status is actually changed
- The room rack — where a stay's room and dates are corrected
