A hotel holds cash in two quite different places: floats at the front office, and drawers in the outlets. The General Cashier has to consolidate them daily, and the reason this is a screen rather than a sum is that the two halves arrive by different routes and are easy to double-count.

Beneath them the components are listed separately rather than merged:

  • Front-office movements (in less out)

Why the outlet figure has two parts#

This is the point of the screen. Outlet cash reaches the summary two ways:

  1. As a float movement recorded on an outlet cashier account in General Cashier
  2. As cash counted in a drawer when an outlet cashier session is closed

A house that records a drawer drop as a movement and closes the drawer with a count has the same money arriving down both paths. If the two were merged into one "outlet cash" figure, that double-count would be invisible. Kept apart, it is obvious — and the General Cashier can see which convention their outlets actually follow.

Only closed, counted drawers consolidate#

The Outlet drawers table lists each closed session with its counted cash and its over/short.

An open drawer does not appear at all. Money in a till nobody has counted is not a figure — it is an assumption, and putting an assumption into a consolidation is how a shortfall gets discovered a month late. Close the session with a count and it joins the total.

Where a deployment has no point of sale#

The outlet drawer line reads Not wired rather than Rp 0. Those are different statements: zero means "we looked and there was none", not wired means "there is nothing here to look at". A property with no POS should not be reassured by a zero it never earned.
