Function spaces & banquet products

Capacity by layout, area and combinability for every banquet space — configured from Settings, still owned by Point of Sale underneath.

Who this is for: requires pos.space.manage to edit spaces, sales.product.manage for banquet products. Where: Settings → Banquet → Function Spaces / Banquet Products

pos_function_spaces — the banquet/meeting rooms a property sells — is owned by Point of Sale, but configuring it from inside POS is the wrong door for a property-setup task. This Settings entry manages the same underlying spaces through POS's own exported API; nothing here is a second source of truth.

Function Spaces#

Each space carries a Space name, capacity by layout (Theatre, Classroom, Banquet, U-shape — fill in whichever apply), an Area in m², and Combines into, for a space that can join with another into a larger one. New space creates one; Edit on a row opens the same form.

Space holds — provisionally reserving a space for a proposal being worked — still go through the existing pos_space_holds path used elsewhere in POS. This screen configures what a space is; availability itself has one source, not two.

Banquet Products#

Banquet Products is the same sales product catalog a proposal's lines are built from, reached from this Settings entry for convenience. New product asks for a name, type (e.g. Meeting package), default price, an optional charge code, and comma-separated inclusions.
